My Quasi Artist's Statement and some Quirky things about me:

Animal forms, female faces, and ancient art history are my favorite inspirations. I found myself using the art from the Utah and Colorado cliff drillers in my work. I borrow their simple forms they use to define the animals. Though I don't use their geometric patterns, I adore the animal shapes with faces.

In this day and age where everyone can be an artist, I actually have 60 graduate classes in painting and art history. I can talk your ear off about different artists and the materials used to make art. I never expected to to be working in three-dimensional art, but the more I played with clay, the more I realized I love building things. I build things to paint!

My husband found my first kiln on NextDoor for $100. I bought it and started my strange journey into clay. I have replaced both the kiln and the husband.

I work out of my house with a functioning ceramic studio. The kiln, cherry bomb, and slab roller live in my garage. The work area in the living room consists of 2 tables, one for the underglaze painting and the other for the building. I have a secret formula for my underglazes which of course I would share.
