"Dr. Cortney Baker, CCC/SLP, is a stroke survivor, wife, and mother of three, as well as the award-winning founder and CEO of KidsCare Home Health, a national healthcare enterprise serving thousands of children with special needs across eight states. Starting from humble beginnings, she founded KidsCare Home Health in 2003 as the sole therapist serving 10 patients, and today, the company has nearly 1,000 employees and has been nationally recognized as a Top Place to Work in the U.S. two years in a row. Honored as a Top Leader in Healthcare and Texas Business Woman of the Year, Cortney turned to art in 2020 to find solace in what felt like a dark, hopeless world. What she discovered was life-changing—a love for painting and the world of art that transformed her life, both literally and metaphorically. For her, art became a homecoming, a source of joy, and a profound personal journey.
